Practice Focus

Ken is the chairman of the firm’s Corporate Department. He has a diverse practice concentrating in affordable housing development utilizing low-income housing tax credits. He also represents a number of contractors and developers in the preparation and negotiation of construction and architect’s contracts.

In addition, Ken represents regional and national commercial lenders in connection with complex lending transactions. He has practiced with Sheehan Phinney since 1986.

Sample Matters
  • Represented a not-for-profit affordable housing developer in the development of a $10 million affordable housing project. Ken represented the developer in securing financing for the project through numerous funding sources, including the sale of Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, New Hampshire Housing Finance Authority Multi-Family Housing Bonds, State HOME Funds, Municipal HOME Funds and various grants.
  • Represented a not-for-profit affordable housing developer in the acquisition and development of a $4.5 million, 30-unit affordable housing project in Haverhill, Massachusetts. Ken represented the developer in acquiring the property and securing financing for the project through numerous funding sources, including the sale of Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development HOME Funds and Municipal HOME Funds.

Ken is admitted to practice in the State of New Hampshire and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Community Involvement

Ken is very active within the local community. He served: as Chairman of the Board of Intown Manchester Management from 2001-2003, as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the New Hampshire Special Olympics 2000-2002, Treasurer 1998 and, since 2003, as a member of the Board of Directors of this organization. He is currently the Chair-Elect of Special Olympics New Hampshire and will begin serving as the Chair on January 1, 2008. From 2002 to the 2006, Ken has served on the Special Olympics United States Leadership Council, a national organization which provides support to local state chapters of the Special Olympics. He also served as Chairman of the New England Council of the Special Olympics from 2000-2001. He is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance. In addition, Ken is a former Vice President of the Board of Directors of HEART Systems, Inc. (1994-2000).
