(August 18, 2004. Boston, MA) - With her three-year term as Chair of Board of Editors of the Boston Bar Journal drawing to a close this August, Maria E. Recalde, a shareholder and director of the regional law firm of Sheehan Phinney Bass + Green, was recently honored by her colleagues and the Boston Bar Association (BBA). The BBA awarded Maria a Certificate of Distinguished Service, expressing its profound gratitude for her outstanding leadership: "Her singular vision for an updated and accessible journal has shaped its redesign and given new life to the publication. Her ability to energize and motivate board members is unparalleled. Maria's deepest commitment coupled with extraordinary management skills have yielded a Journal of the very highest quality."
Maria is an active member of the Boston Bar Association and, in addition to chairing the Boston Bar Journal's Board of Editors, is a former Trustee of the Boston Bar Foundation, and a member of the Boston Bar Foundation Society of Fellows. Maria served a three-year term (1999-2002) as a member of the Council of the Boston Bar Association. She was recently selected to serve on the BBA's Search Committee for a new Executive Director of the BBA and the Boston Bar Foundation (BFA). Maria also is a member of the Massachusetts Association of Hispanic Attorneys, and the Hispanic National Bar Association, where she formerly chaired its Internet/E-Commerce Committee.
Her practice focuses on Internet and e-commerce law, as well as on intellectual property, unfair competition and complex business litigation. She also provides general corporate representation to emerging companies. In addition, her practice encompasses litigation involving non-competition agreements, theft of trade secrets, unfair and deceptive business practices, and trademark and copyright infringement in both state and federal courts. She also practices before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
She lectures and writes regularly on intellectual property, Internet, e-commerce, electronic communications and related topics. |
