(July 15, 2003. Manchester, NH) - Michael C. Harvell, an attorney at the law firm of Sheehan Phinney Bass Green, was recently elected Chair of the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance, headquartered in Concord, New Hampshire.
The New Hampshire Preservation Alliance is the statewide organization dedicated to preserving historic buildings, communities and landscapes through leadership, education and advocacy. Current priorities include providing training and technical assistance to community leaders and promoting barn preservation, the use of easements and funding for the Land and Community Heritage Investment Programs.
In addition to his new role as Chair of the New Hampshire Alliance, Harvell is completing his third term as one of two New Hampshire advisors to the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
Harvells experience in historic preservation began when he was asked to serve as a trustee for the Strawbery Banke Museum in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He eventually became Chair of the organization and led its last capital campaign. As an advisor to the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Harvell works with historic preservation leaders across the country.
Harvell is a litigation lawyer and has been named one of the "Best Lawyers in America" for a number of years. Chambers & Partners, a legal research and publishing firm in the UK recently honored him as one of "American's Leading Business Litigation Lawyers".
